lj.gl is Back in Europe

It’s been a while since I wanted to give a Swedish web host, Binero, a try.

Seeing as when I tried to mirror back the site on to DreamHost, I still had the Site Not Found error, I figured why not have a trial run. Since the monthly cost of an account is about 7€ and I’m looking to keep this site relatively secure and sequestered, since all dis data it has, it seemed like a good opportunity.

So I pulled the site off the cPanel account I was keeping it active on, and I brought it over to Binero.

It took a bit of getting used to, since their platform isn’t really what I’ve come across before but it’s interesting how you can decide whether or not you want an account hosted on Linux or Windows without having your entire account on either side of the fence.

This might be useful down the road for me, so we’ll see how this site ticks along.

So far no real issues, the account was set up easily, managed to figure my way around the system and generally it plays well with CloudFlare.

Anyways, in other general news, I managed to painfully update my FatBit. I was a bit perplexed to find a new icon that I now can’t get rid of, thanks hipsters.

The Life and Times of AX.PE

I never really had a true plan for AX.PE, like really I did not. I’ve been doing things with it for a while now but nothing of real interest.

It seems now that I have found a little pet project for it, I discovered Known. Having read up about it, and being particularly interested in the social media sharing part (since I won’t have to be stuck in the Facebook endless loop), I decided to go for it.

However, it appears that they may have omitted some pertinent information about the whole connecting to anti-social medias. Ya gotta pay. And actually while writing this post and getting lost in the documentation, it appears that it ain’t a thing any more.

Which severely changes the tone of this particular post, if I can figure out how to get it to communicate with the social networks, then it’ll be a good thing. If I can’t then, really it won’t replace what’s already happening here. WordPress does all the graft and I don’t need to Tweet.

It is quite light weight on the eyes, so I’ll still give it a play around and see what happens.

I was going to Tweet this…

As promised I haven’t left my basement today. I’ve been upstairs for about a total of 15 minutes.

It’s bliss, I’m hiding away from the rain and the world (it’s still raining right?). I only have to go upstairs for another half hour to cook then I’m all good to remain underground until tomorrow morning when I rejoin society.

For the rest of the day I believe I shall watch the entire Nightmare on Elm Street DVD box set. It’s also worth mentioning I’ve not got dressed past « pants and t-shirt » and it’s epic.

I have also been working on Hot Mess Express and installed MovableType but it’s giving me a headache, I can’t get the website and blog part to work together and it looks rubbish. I might poke it again later, but until then I’ve relocated to my bed!
