Equal Marriage and all that Jazz

Bleary eyed I wake up this morning for the usual wake up routine, check the Facebook, read about 100 emails that came in post midnight and check that the Zombie Apocolypse hasn't hit the world through the BBC News app.

All fairly standard, until I see the news story that the Catholic Education Service has been getting a bit too political for it's boots right next to Katie Price defiling the holy scanctity that they claim marriage is.Of course I made the mistake of reading the article at this time in the morning and it actually annoyed me, with particular attention to the first few lines:-

It emerged this week that the CES wrote to nearly 400 state-funded Roman Catholic schools inviting them to back a petition against gay civil marriage.

Schools and teachers are forbidden to promote one-sided political arguments.

The CES has denied breaking any laws, saying Catholic views on marriage are religious, not political.

Yes, you are correct you can hold any views you like based on your religion.  However, when you get people to sign a petition to prevent others getting on with their lives, that makes it political.

The CES was also was quoted as saying ..Catholics believe that 'marriage is a high and noble vocation'… could you perhaps tell that to the Oak Finished Katie Price with her string of failed marriages and of course Britney Spears and her drunken violation of the "high and noble vocation"?

How about you have a look at the two below videos and come up with a reason why two people who love each other and been in a stable relationship for many years should be prevented from marriage; that others seem to be doing every few years with a new person just because they can.

I perhaps take customer service and sarcasm far too seriously.

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your letter dated 20 April 2012. I’m very sorry to hear Mr Andrews has not replied to your letter dated 13 April 2012 and I’m also very sorry to hear that you will need to report your position to your client within seven days.

I can fully understand your position and that of your client and I’m sorry for the frustration that this has caused.

However, I would like to make one suggestion, that perhaps Mr Andrews might reply to your letters if you wrote to an address he is currently an occupant of.

Should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact.

Sincerely,

Update: Psycho Spider

My psychotic spider has started a war, he’s been known to eat other spiders so I’ve kept my distance from that bunny boiler. But today he tried to attack my foot.

Yes, that’s right, he attacked my sovereign nation.

I let him have that one as last time he was a touch more friendly, but if it happens again I’m burning his web and evicting him to an adjacent building. We’ll see how he likes that!

God damn you.

I’ve come to the uneasy discovery today why I find it painful to use a mouse or keyboard when my arm is flat on a desk.

Turns out my wrist set oddly and now it’s creeping the shit out of me, it feels so wrong and I’m guessing the only way it’s going to go back properly is by breaking it again. I’m going to have to accept that my freaky busted hand is, well, busted.

Not happy.

But you could make my happy-ish by buying my trinkets for sale:-

HTC Explorer – Black (3) Smartphone
Kérastase Resistance
Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance

Alternatively, purchase me a drink on my birthday either in person or online (through the magic of PayPal – mmn@livejournal.com FYI pints cost £3,40 now days…)

Today has been a success in nothing.

Other than writing my almost epic post of last and a few odd mistaken/test posts, I haven’t done a whole lot today.

I’ve learned one thing though making a post with <a href= »http://ljcharm.livejournal.com/ »>Charm</a> and then modifying it with the iPhone client is a bit of a bad move. It took me almost half an hour to fix it. I’d normally moan, but I ain’t got anything better to get up to today!

I’ve also spiced up my journal theme, it needed a change after a year of the last one.

The only other thing I’ve done is enjoy the French diet of coffee and fags, without the fags.
